What is Codex?
A companion app for Baldur's Gate 3: step-by-step walkthroughs for every quest and place, a story route for each act, illustrated maps, companions, items and builds. It is unofficial, and every word and illustration in it is our own.
What does Codex Premium include?
No ads, and unlimited pins (free players can keep 25). Everything else is free: walkthroughs, search, quest tracking, spoiler control and offline use. Premium is a monthly or yearly subscription, or a one-time lifetime purchase; the app shows the price for your country.
How do I restore my purchase?
Open Settings (the cog on the Home screen), tap Codex Premium, then Restore purchases, signed in with the Apple Account you used to buy. You won't be charged twice.
How do I manage or cancel my subscription?
In Codex, open Settings, tap Codex Premium, then Manage subscription. Or on your iPhone or iPad open the Settings app, tap your name, then Subscriptions. Cancelling stops the next renewal and Premium stays active until the end of the period you paid for. Subscriptions are billed by Apple, so refunds are requested at reportaproblem.apple.com.
How do I control spoilers?
Open Settings and choose a level under Spoilers. Minimal shows only what matters where you are now and hides later acts. Standard adds normal quest information and moderate consequences. Everything shows it all, including major story reveals. Text above your level stays behind a tap-to-reveal, so nothing is shown until you ask. Set your current act on the Home screen so the advice follows where you are.
Where is my progress stored? Will I lose it if I delete the app?
Your ticked steps, quest progress, pins and notes are saved only on your device. There is no account and nothing is uploaded, so deleting the app deletes them. Premium comes back with Restore purchases.
Does Codex work offline?
Yes. The whole guide is inside the app, so walkthroughs, maps and search work with no connection. You only need to be online to buy or restore Premium.
What data does Codex collect?
Codex uses Google Firebase Analytics for anonymous usage statistics, such as which features are used; you can turn this off in Settings under Privacy. It never asks for your name or email, and your notes and progress never leave your device. Ads in the free version are not personalised and Codex doesn't ask to track you across other apps. The Privacy Policy below has the details.
